More June Show and Talk

We seem to be busy embellishing other fabrics with our felted pieces at the moment to create beautiful hybrid felt garments.  Here are Brenda's nuno pieces added to a black fabric base to transform it into an interesting sleeveless jacket -

It's stunning.

June Show and Talk - Shawls

These two lovely wraps were admired by all  last Friday. 

This one made by Kim P using a silk lap as the base -

She's got that stunning collar on too.

This one is a piece by Sue.  It started life as a cape and then was reinvented into a scarf and this larger piece shown below-

On a cold night they could be both be worn at the same time as the colours would work wonderfully together with Kim's silk on show through the felt holes. 

June Show and Talk

As we were busy dying last month there were a few colourful creations at our Show and Talk session on Friday. 

Brenda spent the day laying out the results of her spiral dying experiment so we look forward to seeing the end result next time.

Finished garments on show included this stunning mix of colour on silk by Davida -

There were some beautiful examples of rust dying also on show.  This is a close up of another silk piece from Davida which seems to echo the bark of the tree.
