Take a Seat on the Radio

Our Take a Seat exhibition has attracted the interest of ABC radio. 

Val will be on South West Mornings with Genine Unsworth on ABC Radio South West  this morning talking about felt, the Take a Seat exhibition and the 11th Southern Hemisphere Felting Convergence.

We'll be broadcast around 11.35 am on Thursday 26th August.

August Show and Talk

Brenda brought in another of her felt adorned basics, demonstrating how a few special pieces of our favourite fabric can make an item of clothing really special.

August Meeting

Many thanks to Val for demonstrating Cobweb Felt.  We look forward to seeing everyone's finished pieces at next months meeting.

Thanks also to everyone who brought in their creations for this months Show and Talk.  In this blog post we are showing the beautiful scarves made (and grown) by Maureen.

The alpaca wool is incredibly soft.

Our Exhibition is Open

A big round of applause for everyone who has helped make our first exhibition of felt a resounding success.

The opening at 2.00pm was well attended and Kerry had organised a special celebration cake  for the occasion.

Councillor Judy Jones of the City of Bunbury  officially opened the exhibition and gave a speech in which she gave credit to the amazing creativity of the Bunbury Felters.  She also said  how she was looking forward to October 2011 when Bunbury would become a world centre for felt when the 11th Southern Hemisphere Felting Convergence will be held here.

Many thanks to everyone who lent a hand in putting the exhibition together and especially Kerry seen below surrounded by chairs and wearing felt of course.

Take a Seat Exhibition

Our fabulous exhibition of felted chairs opens today at 2.00 pm at the Cafe Fez, 18-20 Princep Street, Bunbury.

Join us over coffee and cake to view this all age appropriate collection of high quality textile art. 

The exhibition runs from 8th August to 3rd September 2010.
