May Meeting - Show and Talk

Thank you to everyone who brought some of their work in for us to see.

Penny made this stunning table runner after studying her photos from a recent trip to South Africa.

A Cushy Job

Our friends in the Creative Textile Group at Stirling Street Arts Centre have followed our lead and got themselves an exhibition going over at Caf-Fez.

They have been making fabulously decorated bolster cushions.  Each Christmas they put together a small parcel of fabrics and trims, and to exchange these as gifts at their Christmas party.   This year the challenge was to make bolster cushions from the contents and the results are on display at-

Caf-Fez
18 - 20 Prinsep Street
Bunbury

There are more photos on the talented Cait Gordon's fab Tea & Textiles blog, but for the real thing get yourself over to Caf-Fez.  The exhibition runs from 18th May to 30th June 2011.

May Meeting and Felt Collars

Thanks to Jean and Jacqui for giving a workshop on collar making.

They set off a trend at the March meeting making these -

At the same time Brenda made this one -

The above three all started from the same instructions for a "Cascading Collar" found in the book "How we Felt"  by Carol Huber Cypher.

Also at the March meeting Colleen got into the mood of making layers but concentrated on making this fabulous scarf -

Here's Maureen's collar being created last Friday -

We are really looking forward to seeing the final result and yours of course so please bring in all your completed collars for next months Show and Talk.
