May Meeting Show and Talk
Wow, didn't we get creative in last months hat making project.
The first by Penny, it's still waiting for some finishing off around the brim but looks still fab now.
Beautiful colour by Maureen
This one by Sue is decorated using a light cotton which really worked with the green wool. Looks like a tapestry.
Val's amazing hat was mistaken for a flowering cactus when she left it out drying on her doorstep.
It can be worn all sorts of different ways.
You can even do a turban thing with it -
There was a bull in the next field and your blog writer hoped he wasn't going to get any angry thoughts about the red, especially when everything fell off the fence post and landed in his territory. Whooops! Had to carefully sneak to other side of gate to retrieve Val's hat whilst keeping watchful eye on "El Toro". Sorry Val, think I brushed off all the agricultural bits!

Hats
As Lorraine started off the week we will finish our hat series with another of her creations -
Have you enjoyed our week in hat heaven? Yes, we have too. Makes us glad that the weather is getting colder and we can pull a divine brim of felted merino snuggly round our ears.
Our hats and plenty more will be at
There will also be lots of stalls selling unique hand crafted goodies including felt of course.

Hats
Beanies are best. This one is made with beautiful black wool. Val Hornibrook rescues black sheep and keeps them on her farm in Capel. Warms your heart as well as your head; what's not to love?

Is this not amazing??
Sue's life past, present and future is embedded into this "scarat" (so called because it's a hat and scarf combined). Yes we know - cunning. It's such a time saving idea - life is short.
Created at our recent Marjolein Dallinga workshop.

Hats
Everyone knows the Bunbury Felters give good hat and with our April meeting being a hatathon of millinery and the Stirling Street Arts Centre's forthcoming Autumn Fair including a decorated hat challenge we thought we would dedicate this week to the splendidness of the felt hat.
